Matt Gamble, born in County Down in Northern Ireland, discovered his love of photography at age 14. This came from stumbling upon ‘Webshots’  – a website that specialised in backgrounds for computers. Bizarrely, this was the beginning of his first love; Landscape Photography. 

Fascinated by the newness of his hobby and starting with a Fuji point and shoot camera, Matt spent his teenage years driving around and photographing landscapes in surrounding counties. Starting from the basics, he was committed to learning, building and developing his skills. Coming from a scientific family, the majority being engineers, Matt was the first one who broke away and decided to pursue a more creative field and became dedicated to seeing and capturing spaces authentically.

As a student, he attended a three day guided course with famous landscape photographer, Charlie Waite. Whilst landscapes remain his first love, Matt found himself being more drawn towards the built environment and decided that he wanted to pivot within the industry. He decided he wanted his style to faithfully resemble what was seen with the naked eye and so began his exploration in his career as an interior photographer.

Leaving university and taking a job as a property photographer, Matt was able to hone his skill set within interior, architectural and commercial photography, allowing him to learn new skills in real time. 

When travelling around Asia, he rediscovered his passion for photography, for no other reason than capturing something great. Matt returned to the UK with a renewed drive in the field, focusing on interior design and architecture where he started Matt Gamble Photography in 2015.
